Gemstones & lace
are a constant source
The collections usually begin with a box bursting with photographs, drawing, and images found in magazines. I sort through this medley and a collection begins to emerge. The process though is ever evolving and a constant source of wonder.
With a background in the arts (Pratt Institute) and writing (The New School), I've always had my hand in creating something tangible. In 2004, I began working with gemstones. Like candy in a candy store, it was impossible not to create with the brilliant colored stones. A few years ago I began working with lace and textiles, turning pieces of work into wearable art for the bridal market.
Hands down - travel! I believe it is the single most important way to spark creativity. Set your feet on anther shore and take on the way of the locals. // Aromatic Coffee // Paper with texture // Books with transporting stories // Letterpress // Museums.
A behind the scenes look at what is new in the studio. Random photos of vacation (yay!), food, kids & cats will make an appearance.
